Winning!
Victories at the Supreme Court, on Wall Street, at the gas pumps, in the Mideast, at the border… and as an added bonus, the regime-controlled media that have been trying to destroy everything MAGA all these years keep shriveling up and fading away.
The comrades and the fellow travelers are still churning out their very fake news, but the Big Lie doesn’t work anymore. For one thing, Trump and his administration don’t take it anymore. No more turning the other cheek like it’s 2017.
Whenever one of the serial fake-news offenders excretes another whopper — Natasha Bertrand, this means you! — the White House puts out a fact sheet listing her sordid history of “scoops.” Then they unleash the FBI on her alleged sources in the Deep State.
More significantly, it turns out that 24/7 agitprop is not a good business model. Abraham Lincoln was right. You can’t fool all the people all the time. (Although Jake Tapper is doing nicely with the corollary that you can fool some of the people all of the time. At least if they’re Democrats.)
The accelerating collapse of so-called mainstream media is such a pleasure to watch. Breitbart has been keeping a list of “Trump’s epic schlonging” of Democrat operatives with press passes since January.
Of course, most of these sanctimonious snore-mongers linger on in one shrunken form or another, still screaming obscenities and shaking their fists at the moon. Their TDS is incurable. But mostly now they’re reduced to “podcasting.”
And not podcasting in the Joe Rogan or Megyn Kelly meaning of the word, with millions of followers and dollars.
No, we’re talking the Keith Olbermann business model — live from the basement.
Most recently whacked alleged journalist was Terry Moran of ABC “News.” He posted a deranged post-midnight anti-Trump tweet, after which he assured the world he wasn’t drunk. He was, however, unemployed less than a week later
He’d just interviewed Trump, during which the president casually informed Moran that he’d “never heard of him.”
You could say the same thing about almost all of these empty-headed empty suits. The old days are over. Walter Cronkite ain’t walking through that door.
ABC “News” had already had to pay Trump $16 million for defamation. And they own those dinosaur broadcast TV stations that still need licenses from the FCC.
So Terry Moron sleeps with the fishes. He said he’s going to do, you guessed it, a podcast, perhaps with Brian Ross, another ABC “investigative” fraud who was fired in the first Trump administration.
CBS — also known as “See BS” — is being sold in a distress sale. But as with ABC, Trump’s FCC has the whip hand. The FCC must sign off on the sale because of the broadcast licenses.
The problem is that last fall, for the third time since 2004, 60 Minutes attempted to fix the presidential election for the Democrats. They failed. Now See BS is offering Trump $20 million as a settlement for their attempted election rigging.
That’s not nearly enough, Mr. President! Make them cancel 60 Minutes too!
Meanwhile, the anchors of the unwatched NBC and ABC nightly newscasts have been replaced by even less likable newsreaders. The latest NBC anchor is Tom Llamas. He had a big scoop on ABC in 2019 when he aired “exclusive” footage of an artillery barrage in Syria. Only it was from a gun range in Kentucky.
After that, you knew he was going places in fake news. And now Llamas is on the ultimate treadmill to oblivion — network news.
How about cable TV? In 2018 there were 90 million US households hooked up to either cable or satellite TV. As of next year, the subscriber base will be down to 54 million.
CNN and MSNBC are both for sale. Even a trust-funded puke like Anderson Cooper of CNN has figured out that his $18 million salary is no longer sustainable. As an old-time baseball executive once said to his home-run king during contract negotiations:
“We finished last with you. We can finish last without you.”
Chuck Todd, another Democrat Capitol Hill payroll patriot in the Tapper-Stephanopoulos vein, was replaced — by an even dimmer DEI female hire.
But even DEI can’t save most of these clowns anymore. Just ask Jim Acosta. Or Joy Reid. Not to mention Katie Phang, Jonathan Capehart and Ayman Mohyeldin. It’s a bloodbath over there at MS-13-DNC.
How about The Washington Post? Say goodbye Jennifer Rubin, Ruth Marcus, Eugene Robinson. And then Friday night, the feds lugged one of their Pulitzer Prize winners. Kiddie porn.
One-third of the New York Times’ editorial board is gone – not nearly enough. Columnist Paul Krugman, always wrong but never in doubt, has been podcasted out, or maybe substacked, I can’t keep ‘em all straight anymore.
Some of these shameless hacks have just aged out. Chris Wallace — how’s that CNN+ streaming thing working out for you, pal? Andrea Mitchell, age 83, Hillary Clinton’s favorite reporter.
Neil Cavuto was a rabid RINO on Fox News. He sadly discovered that just hating Trump was no longer enough.
The best news, of course, is that “public” broadcasting is finally being defunded by Congress, maybe not totally or right away. But soon they’re going to find out if liberals are willing to actually fork over some of their own trust-fund cash to pay for that daily dose of America Last.
How many umbrellas and tote bags is WGBH going to have to sell to keep paying Jim Braude his almost half-million a year?
Local TV news is doomed as well. You don’t need it for weather, obviously, or sports. And all of them have sworn off real news, across the dial.
“Who watches it anymore?” a listener told me Friday. “All they have now is sink holes in Florida and high-speed car chases from LA. Nothing local.”
They’re all doomed. We’re winning, and they’re on the ropes. As Gore Vidal once said, “It is not enough to win. Others must lose.”
Losing! And nobody deserves to lose more than them.
